Chinese electronic company TCL announced that they have sold 292,256 units of LCD TV in August and this was a 237.9% increase on year. TCL added that 86,909 units of LCD TV were sold to home appliance market and 205,347 units were sold internationally. Meanwhile CRT TV sales decreased 23.5% and DVD player decreased 24.3%. Mobile phone sales increased 3.66% at 1.11 million units. LCD TV Shipments from January to August reach 2.231 million units which takes up to 23.5% global TV shipments, a 6.6% increase on year.
